Full service wedding celebrant contract

The celebrant will keep the agreed date and time available for your ceremony in accordance with the following:

  1. A booking fee of $1100 is payable to secure date and services of the celebrant. In the event of cancellation of the ceremony after the booking fee has been paid, this booking fee is not refundable. In the event of a postponement of the ceremony to a new date that the celebrant is not available, the booking fee is not refundable.
  2. The balance of your account is due and payable two months prior to your wedding date. In the event of cancellation of the ceremony, refund or part of the balance fee will be considered, and will be at the celebrant’s discretion.
  3. In the event that the ceremony is delayed more than 30 minutes beyond the agreed starting time, the celebrant reserves the right to leave the wedding if she has another commitment.

The celebrant agrees to:

Carry out tasks outlined and agreed upon in the Invoice, relevant to the selected Ceremony Package. Including:
a)    Provide, complete and lodge all legal paperwork
b)    Perform a ceremony in a format agreed upon by the client and celebrant
c)    Remain contactable in the time leading up to the ceremony
d)    Arrive at the ceremony location with adequate timing prior to the ceremony starting time
e)    Maintain an appropriate level of personal presentation
f)    Respect the privacy and confidentiality of the couple

If the celebrant is unable to conduct the ceremony for any reason, the couple will be advised as soon as practicable. The celebrant will undertake all reasonable efforts to arrange for the ceremony to be completed by another authorised marriage celebrant. Any deposits paid will be refunded and the Notice of Intended Marriage form will be passed to the replacement marriage celebrant.

The celebrant will not be held responsible for satisfactory delivery of the ceremony in the event of disruption of things outside of their control, such as children, guests, animals or a disturbance of any nature.

The couple agrees to:

Pay the celebrant’s fee specified in the invoice provided by direct deposit to the celebrant’s nominated bank account no later than 60 days prior to the day of the ceremony. If payment has not been made by the due date this will be taken as notice that the couple has cancelled the celebrant’s services.
The refund of any paid fee is at the discretion of the celebrant.
Provide the celebrant with all original documentation requested no later than 48 hours prior to the wedding day.

Unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in writing by the couple, if the couple fails to provide all documentation requested to the celebrant no later than 48 hours prior to the day of the ceremony, the celebrant reserves the right to not proceed with preparations or conduct the ceremony.
Advise the celebrant immediately in writing of any change to the time, date or place of the ceremony.  The celebrant reserves the right to cancel the agreement and retain the booking fee if, due to the change, she is unable to conduct the ceremony. In the event of a change in the 48 hours leading up to the ceremony, both written and vocal confirmation must be made.

Notice of cancellation of ceremony must be given to the celebrant in writing and the celebrant reserves the right to retain the booking fee and other amounts paid.

The celebrant reserves the right to leave the place of the ceremony 30 minutes after the agreed start time if the couple have not arrived or the ceremony cannot proceed for any reason outside the celebrant’s control. That in the event of the above occurrence, the Parties can liaise with the celebrant to mutually agree on a later time and place for the celebrant to solemnise the marriage for an extra fee, payable in advance.
The couple will provide the celebrant with accurate information, and acknowledge that any false statement or declaration may render them liable to prosecution penalties.
